What will my child be learning about this year?
Because we have mixed year groups in our classes we have a two year rolling programme of topics which we use to make sure that your child learns about something different in every subject each year. Find out what they will be investigating this year below:
Early Years Foundation Stage
The curriculum in Harriers Class is unique to the rest of the school. Miss. Yates structures her curriculum around the children's interests and she never quite knows where it will take her at the start of each term. However she has a detailed knowledge of the Early Years Outcomes and makes sure that she provides her children with opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills in each area, providing challenge and support tailored to each child's needs. Miss. Yates keeps Harriers Class website page up to date with news of what's going on class so why not have a look and see what they're up to. The Early Years Outcomes document can be found below so you can see what is expected of the children as they progress through their first year in school.
We use LAPs (Learning & Progression Statements) to help us record what your child can do over the course of the year. They also helps us tailor our teaching to meet your child's needs, making sure we give them to best possible learning opportunities and support to grow and develop. Find out what they should be able to do by the end of each year below:
