Our Barnabus RE Day
Who is 'Barnabus in Schools'?
Barnabus in Schools is part of BRF, a Christian registered charity. Their aim is to provide 'excellence and enjoyment' and to resource children and their teachers in primary school to explore Christianity and the Bible creatively.Their work supports the provision of RE, Personal and Social Education and Spiritual, Moral and Cultural development in primary school.
What is the Barnabus RE Day Approach?
Barnabus in Schools say:' We value the spiritual life of children and embrace an open-ended and exploratory approach when exploring Christian values and Bible stories through the creative arts. No assumptions are made about prior knowledge or expectations concerning personal belief. Children are encouraged to use their imagination to immerse themselves in key faith stories - to ask questions, to suggest possible answers to dilemmas and to engage with Christian beliefs in a creative and non-confrontational way.'
What did we do?
On Wednesday 20th April, a lady called Diana came into school to deliver an RE day for us with the theme 'What's So Special About the Bible?' We sang songs, played games, asked questions and learnt an awful lot about why the Bible is so special. Have a look at what we got up to here!
