St. Paul's Church and Primary School are linked with a Lutheran Church in Timmerlah in the Diocese of Braunschweig in Northern Germany. Members of the St. Paul's Church community have been on a number of visits to Timmerlah and our German friends have visited Warton too.
The Church in Timmerlah is connected to a primary school there called Grundschule Timmerlah and we regularly send gifts, cards and letters to each other; especially at important times in the Church calendar. When our friends from Timmerlah come to visit Warton they always come to see us in school and we always welcome them with a special school worship. Last time they came we learnt the hymn 'Be Bold, Be Strong' in German so we could sing it for them!
Rev. Mike (Our priest and Chair of Governors) and some of the St. Paul's congregation ( including Mr. Charnley who is one of our governors and Mrs. Charnley who is our librarian and Treasurer of the PTFA) have visited Grundschule Timmerlah to deliver some of our letter and cards and they have taken videos for us so we can see our German friends and their school. Have a look at our Community Scrapbook in the school entrance to see some of the things the children have sent us.
