You've got a friend in me
A visit from a friend
Today we had a visit from our friend Dash. We have been sending emails to Dash and his owner Miss Snape since September. We have heard about Dash's adventures, his birthday and his holidays. We have told him all about our learning and what we have been doing in class. Finally we got to meet him. We gave him a present, some treats and we all got to stroke him. He was so well behaved and we really liked watching him chase his ball. We hope to see him and Miss Snape again very soon!
Infant Trip to Martin Mere
On Wednesday 3rd July the Infants went to Martin Mere for their annual school trip. We were very excited to see all of the animals that lived there. We went pond dipping, took a wild walk, visited the park and looked for birds from the Harriers Hide. Take a look at the pictures to see what we got up to!
Our first Sports Day!
On Friday 28th June we took part in our very first sports day as part of St. Paul's school family. We had great fun running in each race. We kept on trying, like Mr Bump, and tried every single race! We cheered for our team. Red team were the winners but everyone did a fantastic job. Well done!
Official Opening of our Outdoor Classroom
Today we celebrated the opening of our new Outdoor Classroom with an egg hunt! We had a visit from the local paper who came to take photographs of our lovely new area. Some of the Governors also came to join in. Our new classroom was blessed by Reverend Jane and we all said a prayer to welcome lots of play and enjoyment in the area.
We have had a very busy half term learning all about materials, buildings and traditional tale stories. We have really enjoyed exploring and investigating in our new outdoor classroom. It has already made a big difference to our learning outside! We have taken part Science Week and World Book Day and really liked showing the parents everything we had learnt. Happy Easter from Harriers Class, we hope you have a good holiday!
Look at our new outdoor classroom!
Harriers class have been so excited to try out our new outdoor classroom this week. On Thursday and Friday all of the children spent most of the day learning outside. They have enjoyed exploring our mud kitchen, planting area, den and role play area, climbing wall, water area and construction area. The builders have done an amazing job to create a purposeful learning environment for us. If you would like to come and have a look around just pop in after school for a grand tour.
Today the children had a visit from the local police. They were here to talk about keeping safe in the community. The children were very keen to answer their questions and try on their police equipment. We even got to go in a police van!
On Tuesday we enjoyed a snow day. We had so much fun exploring and playing in the snow. We liked the snowflakes landing on our faces and building snowmen with the snow that had settled on the floor. Take a look at the pictures to see what we got up to.
Preparing for Christmas
We have been enjoying counting down the days until Christmas. Last week we had a very busy week! It was our Nativity Performance that we have been working so hard to perfect. We also made Christingles and learnt what each of the parts were for. We made the hall dark and lit our candles. We sang a song and watched the light flicker.
We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Fantastic first half term!
Harriers Class have made a great start to their time at St.Paul's School. We have been very busy getting to know everyone and making new friends. We have also enjoyed celebrating Harvest Festival. A BIG thank you for all of your kind donations. We have been reading lots of stories; our favourites have been Owl babies and Funny Bones. We have had lots of visitors; Miss Snape the Chair of Governors and some lovely nursery children. We are looking forward to next half term already. Don't tell anybody but we have already started learning our Nativity songs!
