Worship at St. Paul's
Worship is an absolutely crucial element of our Church School. Worship is for everyone – for the staff and for the children. It bonds us as a school family and is the most important time of the day.
School worship is our major contact with God in the week, and it is a school family celebration – good fun, lively, and interactive.
We believe in making worship fun – a time for important things – the centre of the school day.
We use the Blackburn Diocese Resource ‘Values for Life’ to plan our Whole School, Keystage and Class worships around. We choose a value each half term and this become the focus of our worship activities in school. This half term our value is FORGIVENESS.
Our week of worship looks like this:
Monday: Songs of Praise Worship - we start the week by singing our praises to God
Tuesday: Reverend Mike (our priest) or Reverend Fiona (the Curate) lead Tuesday worship. This is based around Sunday’s church service and ensures that those children who don’t attend church don’t miss out.
Wednesday: Whole school worship, focussing on an aspect of our chosen value. The Worship Team often play a key role in this worship – you can find out more about them in the ‘Children’ section of our site. On the last Wednesday of every half term we do something different. The worship team collect suggestions for prayers and songs from each class and we incorporate everyone's suggestions to create a 'Request' Worship.
Thursday: We have separate Infant and Junior worships led by each Classteacher in turn, building on the objective introduced to the children on Wednesday
Friday: Celebration Worship, when we celebrate everything we’ve achieved during the week and invite parents and carers of children who will be receiving an award along to share in their children’s success.
